
Humphrey Named AVCA All-America Honorable Mention

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - Just one week after being named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Southwest Region Team, Rice volleyball senior middle blocker Jillian Humphrey was named AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, the association announced on Wednesday.
Humphrey, who becomes the 10th different Owl to ever earn AVCA All-American honors, ranked second in C-USA (34th in the nation), in hitting percentage (.375) and was third in the league in total blocks (141). Humphrey earned C-USA First-Team honors for the first time in her career thanks to a .437 hitting percentage in C-USA matches and was the only player in the league to earn both Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors in 2014.
Humphrey is the ninth player to earn AVCA All-America honors under the guidance of Rice head coach Genny Volpe.
