
Jensen, Roper Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - Rice cross country sophomores Katie Jensen and Cali Roper were each named to the 2014 Conference USA Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, the league announced on Friday.
Selected by the league's sports information directors, the all-academic teams consists of student-athletes that have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a key member on their team.
Roper, a sophomore from Willis, Texas, boasts a 3.82 GPA while majoring in sports management. She became the first-ever Owl to win an individual C-USA Championship, one of four individual first place finishes this season. Roper was named the C-USA Female Athlete of the Week twice this season and was a C-USA Academic Medal winner in 2013.
Jensen, a sophomore from the Woodlands, Texas, sports a 3.53 GPA as an undeclared major in the engineering division. Jensen placed third at the Rim Rock Farm Collegiate and has finished in the top-five in four of five races.
Both Jensen and Roper are competing at today's NCAA South Central Regional in Fayetteville, Ark.
