IRVING, Texas - Sophomore Cali Roper earned her second cross country Conference USA Female Athlete of the Week award of the season, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Roper's stellar 2014 campaign continued last Saturday when she won the 6K race at the Rim Rock Farm Collegiate in a time of 21:35, her third consecutive individual title of the season. The Willis, Texas native helped guide the Owls to their third team title in as many races, edging out host Kansas by one point, 37-38.

The Owls are ranked third for a second straight week in the latest USTFCCCA South Central Region rankings behind only Arkansas (1) and Baylor (2). Rice has won three team titles in a season for the first time since 2007 when they won six total meets.

Rice will send a select few runners to the HBU Invite this Friday before returning to action as a team on Oct. 18 at the Indiana State Pre-Nationals Invitational.
