Garforth-Bles Advances in Baylor Invite Consolation Bracket

Rice senior Sam Garforth-Bles played only one set, but advanced two rounds to move into the semifinals of the consolation bracket at the Baylor-HEB Invitational in Waco on Saturday.
Garforth-Bles won the first set of his match against Louisiana-Lafayette's Brandon Brandon Farine 6-2 and then advanced when Farine was injured early in the second set. He then earned a spot in the semis when his quarterfinal opponent, Andre Vidaller of Arizona withdrew because of an injury.
Garforth-Bles is scheduled to face Yauhen Yakaulev of Texas-Arlington at 10 am on Sunday, with the consolation final set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
