Owls Drop Saturday Matches in Midland Invite

The Rice men's tennis team saw their first tournament action of the 2011 Fall season come to a close on Saturday when Owls all three of their remaining entries dropped their opening matches on Saturday.
Sophomore Philip Seifert fell to Cliff Marsland of Tulsa, 6-3, 6-4 while freshmen Leif Berger lost to Calum Gee of Davidson 7-5 , 6-3 and Justin To took Texas Tech's Raphael Phister to three sets before losing 7-6. 4-6, 7-6.
The Owls will be back in action next weekend when they send a group of players to compete in the Baylor Invitational in Waco, September 23-25.
