
Fowler Advances at Pittsburgh Futures Tournament

Competing at the PNC Men's Futures of Pittsburgh event, Rice University junior Harry Fowler defeated former UCLA player Nicholas Meister 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the tournament's quarterfinals.
However, Fowler's run in the professional tournament ended in the quarterfinals on Friday with a 7-5, 6-2 loss to Ohio State's Chase Buchanan, the main draw of the tournament's No. 7 seed.
Fowler began the main draw of the tournament with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 win over David Emery. Fowler advanced to the main draw of the tournament with three straight victories earlier in the week.
The PNC Men's Futures of Pittsburgh is the third of four consecutive clay court tournaments on the USTA Pro Circuit summer season which provides players an opportunity to develop their games on clay.
