Owls Doubles Tandem Advance to Title Match

MIDLAND - The Rice University doubles tandem of Harry Fowler and Peter Frank advanced to the finals of the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational here Saturday.
Fowler and Frank, both newcomers to the Rice team, defeated Baylor's Sergio Ramirez and Robert Verzaal 8-6 on Saturday. The Rice pair will take on Oklahoma's Lawrence Formentara and and John Harry Warden for the doubles championship on Sunday.
Rice had two players advance to the Round of 16 on Friday but Michael Nusslein had to default to Texas' Daniel Whitehead while Frank dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to New Mexico's Carl Ho on Saturday.
