Owls Will Play in Three Title Matches

2010 Rice Fall Invite Day 2 Results
Oscar Podlewski will take on teammate Philipp Seifert in an all-Owl final of the "C" Singles Draw on Sunday to wrap up the 53rd Rice Fall Invite presented by Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Medical Center at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.
Rice will have players competing for three of four singles titles Sunday. Harry Fowler will take on Texas' Ben Chen in the finals of the "B" Singles Draw while Christian Saravia will play Texas' Alex Hilliard in the "D" Singles Draw championship match. The "A" Singles championship draw will feature Texas' Daniel Whitehead against LSU's Stefan Szacinski.
In the "B" Singles Draw Saturday, Fowler came back from a set down to beat Texas-Arlington's Yauheni Yakuleu 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.
Podlewski advanced to the "C" Singles finals with a 6-4, 6-1 win over LSU's Oliver Borsos while Philipp Seifert grabbed a 6-3, 6-2 victory over UTA's Erik Hjertonsson.
Saravia advanced to the "D" Singles finals with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over LSU's Cody Loup.
The Owls only loss on the championship side of the bracket Rice Fall Invite Saturday came in the "B" Doubles Draw. Oscar Podlewski and Sam Garforth-Bles suffered an 8-2 loss to Texas' Chen and Sudanwa Sitaram.
Sunday's play begins with doubles play at 9 a.m. The consolation finals are set for 10 a.m. on the Rice campus.
