
Owls 11th In Collegiate Baseball's 2010 Preseason Rankings

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Rice baseball team was ranked 11th in the country in Collegiate Baseball's preseason rankings for the upcoming 2010 season, the publication announced from its headquarters in Arizona on Monday (Dec. 21).

Last year the Rice baseball team compiled a 43-18 record and won the Conference USA Tournament Championship. Rice hosted and won an NCAA home Regional to advance to the Super Regional round for a fifth-straight year.
In 2010 the Owls celebrate the program's biennial Baseball Alumni Day on Feb. 6 at Reckling Park. The season officially begins with a three-game series on the road at national power Stanford on Feb. 19-21. The 2010 home-opener at Reckling Park is set for Feb. 23 against longtime rival Texas State.
