COLLEGE STATION - Rice sophomore Michael Nusslein dropped a 7-6, 6-1 decision to Texas' Dimitar Kutrovsky in quarterfinal play of the 2009 Wilson/ITA Texas Regional Men's Tennis Championships being played at Texas A&M.
Quarterfinal play at the regional was rescheduled following the tournament being postponed Monday by rain.
Nusslein had defeated two seeded players, Slah Mbarek of TCU and Texas Tech's Rafeal Garcia, to advance to the quarterfinals.
Rice will be back in action this weekend when the team travels to the Texas Fall Invitational.
