Wilson/ITA Texas Regional Resumes Tuesday

COLLEGE STATION - The 2009 Wilson/ITA Texas Regional Men's Tennis Championships were cancelled Monday due to rain, pushing back the tournament's final rounds to Tuesday and Wednesday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.
Rice University's Michael Nusslein has advanced to the main draw's quarterfinals and will take on the tournament's No. 1 seed, Texas' Dimitar Kutrovsky Tuesday at 9 a.m. The winner will advance to the semifinals slated for later in the day.
Nusslein defeated two seeded players on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinal. He posted a 6-2, 7-5 win over No. 5 seed Slah Mbarek of TCU then knocked off one of the tournament's No. 9 seeds, Rafeal Garcia of Texas Tech 6-4, 7-6.
The championship match in singles will be played Wednesday at 10 a.m. Due to Monday's wash out, all consolation rounds of singles play have been cancelled.
Rice's Isamu Tachibana had advanced to the quarterfinals of the R2C consolation bracket.
