
Boulavsky and Lam Named Academic All-District VI

Two Rice Owls volleyball players have been selected to the ESPN the Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District VI team. Junior outside hitter Jessie Boulavsky, from Houston, Texas and Clear Brook H.S., earned first team honors with a 4.052 pga on a 4.00 scale. She is a psycology major on the pre-med track. This marks the second-consecutive year in which she has been named to the team.
Sophomore Tracey Lam, a triple major in economics, management, and Asian studies, has a 3.81 gpa and was named to the All-District VI second team. Lam is a native of San Francisco, Calif. and attended Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep.
Lam leads Conference USA and is ranked 26th in the nation in digs per set at 5.00 (490 digs in 98 sets).
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 14,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA covering all NCAA championship sports.
