Jarett Dillard, who led Conference USA receivers with 14 touchdown catches this past season, has been selected by the conference's coaches to their All C-USA First Team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Dillard, who also led league receivers with 7.5 catches per game on conference action, finished the season with 79 catches for 1,051 yards in 12 contests. He ended the season with 40 career touchdown passes, becoming just the eighth receiver in NCAA history to reach that total.
Three of Dillard's teammates were selected to the second team, while five others earned honorable mention recognition.
Chase Clement, who broke 18 Rice offensive records this past year, was selected by the coaches as the quarterback on the second team. He was joined on the second team offensive unit by senior guard Robby Heos. Linebacker Brian Raines was named by the coaches to their second team defensive unit.
Junior David Berken and freshman James Casey were named to the offensive honorable mention team, while defensive backs Andrew Sendejo, Brandon King and Gary Anderson, Jr. were named to the honorable mention defensive team.
Casey was one of three Rice freshmen who were selected to the conference's All Freshman team by the coaches. He was joined on the offensive squad by offensive tackle Scott Mitchell, while defensive end Scott Solomon was selected to the defensive team.
