Dillard and Clement Earn All American Mentions

Rice's record-setting passing combination of Chase Clement and Jarett Dillard have each earned honorable mention All-America recognition from different media outlets for their efforts this past season.
Clement, who smashed 18 school records this past year, was tabbed by College Football News.com, while Dillard, who became just the eighth player in NCAA history to reach 40 career touchdown catches, was recognized by Sports Illustrated. He had earlier recognized by Phil Steele as a fourth-team All American for 2007.
Clement concluded the 2007 season by averaging 433.7 yards of total offense over the last seven games, including the top three individual efforts in school history. He capped his season off by setting a C-USA record with 601 yards of total offense against Tulsa.
He set school season marks for attempts (508), completions (300), yards (3,377), touchdown passes (29), total offense (3,912), total touchdowns (37) and total plays (652); single-game marks for attempts (66 vs. Tulsa), completions (40 vs. Tulsa), yards (541 vs. Tulsa), touchdown passes (6 vs. UTEP), total offense (601 vs. Tulsa), total touchdowns (8 vs. UTEP), and total plays (83 vs. Tulsa).
Dillard led conference receivers with 14 touchdown catches and topped 1,000 yards receiving for the second consecutive year. He led C-USA receivers with 7.5 catches per game during the conference season. He also added the Owls career records for receptions and receiving yardage to his resume as well.
