HOUSTON -- Rice sophomore Jessie Boulavsky was named to the Conference USA all-academic team as selected by the league's Sports Information Directors, the C-USA office recently announced.
Boulavsky (Clear Brook HS) holds a 4.099 GPA as a psychology and pre-med major at Rice. Earlier this month she was selected as the first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District as selected by CoSIDA and is now a candidate for academic all-America honors. She was a C-USA academic medalist as a freshman and has twice been named to the President's Honor Roll at Rice.
On the court, Boulavsky led the Owls in 2007 with a .327 overall hitting percentage, a mark the stands as the seventh best single season at Rice. She was also second on the team in league matches with a .290 hitting percentage. She made nine starts, played in all 30 matches and was the first player off the bench when she wasn't in the starting lineup.
