Promotions Highlight Final Two Home Games

The Rice Owls, riding the momentum of a pair of fourth-quarter comeback wins, will close out the 2007 campaign with a pair of games at Rice Stadium. The Owls will host Tulane this Saturday, and after celebrating Thanksgiving next Thursday, the Owls will meet Tulsa in the season finale. Kickoff for both games is set for 2 p.m.
Activities on campus will kick off at 10 a.m. each Saturday with the opening of Tailgate Owley. This popular feature which opened this season is a special tailgating area located on the practice football field north of the stadium. It features moonwalks, and a rock climbing wall for younger fans as well as refreshment areas and a band on stage from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Fans of all ages will have a number of special opportunities to attend the final two home games at no charge.
Both games have been designated Pee Wee Football Days. Area youth football players as well as their cheerleaders, will be admitted free when attending the games in their uniforms. Both games are also Scout Days, with any Girl,Boy or Cub scout being admitted free if in uniform. Any troops who plan to attend should contact Megan Dodge (mdodge@rice.edu, in order to receive special scoreboard recognition.
At halftime of the Rice - Tulane game, Houston area Purple Heart recipients will be honored. In addition, three wounded soldiers will be presented their Purple Hearts.
Prior to the start of the Tulsa game, the 15 seniors who will be playing their final game at Rice Stadium will be honored. Fans are encouraged to be in the stadium early and join the salute to these departing players.
