For the second time this season, Rice junior Marissa Daniels of Pearland, Texas, was named Conference USA's women's cross country athlete of the week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Daniels, who previously garnered C-USA honors on Sept. 12, was the individual champion at the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Splash on Sept. 29. She rolled to a 17:05 clocking over the flat five-kilometer course to win by 31 seconds and lead the Owls to an impressive team victory over Texas. Rice scored 17 points, only two off a perfect score, while the Lady Longhorns tallied 60 points.
