Jessica Cox was 18th overall to lead the Rice "B" team to a fifth-place team finish at the Islander Splash women's cross country race Friday in Corpus Christi.

Cox ran the three-mile course in 19:36, just ahead of teammates Lauren Murphy in 19th place and Leah McKay in 20th. Malin Fuglesang was 25th, and Janine Moreau was 28th as the Owls scored 110 points. Hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi swept the top five spots for a perfect score of 15.
