Daniels Named C-USA Athlete of the Week

Houston - Rice sophomore Marissa Daniels was named Conference USA's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Daniels placed second overall and led the Owls to the team title at the Rice Invitational on Sept. 17. The Pearland product covered the 4,083-meter course in 14:37.97.
An NCAA national qualifier last year, Daniels helped Rice score 24 points to easily take top honors in the 10-team meet.
The Owls travel to Minneapolis this weekend for the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota's Les Bolstad Golf Course on Saturday. There they will go up against eight teams ranked in the national top 30.
