Josh Geer

Junior pitcher Josh Geer did a sterling job in the Owls' 2005 season opening win on Saturday, but now he has answered the call down in the bullpen to face an even tougher lineup of Ballpark Chatter questions.

The newcomer from Forney fired 4.0 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts in the Owls' 5-2 win over Central Missouri State. He allowed just two hits and a walk to earn the win for Rice on opening day.

Did you know? Geer was a starting pitcher for two years at Navarro College and was named the most valuable player in the conference in 2004.
