"Jason got some work in today, which was good," said coach Ken Hatfield following the two-hour practice on the grass fields. "We're getting a few more people back to make us a bit more solid than we were last week.
Hebert missed the Owls' 23-16 loss to Tulsa with a leg injury, an absence which caused a ripple effect in the Rice secondary. Against the Hurricane, bandit Dan Dawson moved to Hebert's free safety position, strong safety Travis Ortega replaced Dawson at bandit, and Antwan Shell got his first start at strong safety.
"We had a good practice, a good Tuesday practice," said Hatfield. "We will have faced great quarterbacks four weeks in a row, so we're getting some carryover in our preparation."
Saturday's game will kickoff at 11:38 am (CDT), moved up to accomodate a Big 12 regional network telecast, including KHOU-TV, ch. 11, in Houston.
