Cross Country: Lightning cancels Rice Relays

The Rice Relays at Buffalo Bayou were cancelled Friday due to lightning in the area and will not be rescheduled.

Men's and women's teams from Rice, the University of Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State University, Texas A&M, Baylor and Texas Southern began the race but were forced to stop after the two-mile mark.

Rice also hosts its next meet, the Rice Invitational, Sept. 16 on campus.
