HOUSTON -- Just who will be Rice's starting quarterback in Saturday's season finale at Nevada will be a game day decision, head coach Ken Hatfield said after Wednesday's practice.
Senior Ben Wulf and redshirt freshman Kyle Herm have split time in practice this week after each had quality minutes last week at Texas-El Paso. Both QBs threw 30-yard touchdown passes to Gavin Boothe against the Miners, and Herm had 92 rushing yards in about a quarter-and-a-half of playing time.
"Ben and Kyle both did all of it today," Hatfield said. "Like I told somebody from Reno (Wednesday), these are the guys working out and we'll figure it out once we get there."
Rice (3-7, 2-5) and Nevada (1-9, 0-6) will meet at Mackay Stadium in Reno at 2:05 pm CST.
