Fullback Clint Leschber and halfback Justin Engler are probably the only Owls who will miss the TCU game. Leschber also did not play in the 49-7 win over San Jose State last Saturday after spraining a knee the previous week at Hawaii, while Engler went out against SJSU with a knee sprain.
Starting right guard Heath Fowler (knee) and reserve tackle Keith Meyer (shoulder) were both back in practice Tuesday after leaving the SJSU game early.
In addition, running back/return specialist Sean White was back at work Tuesday. He also missed the San Jose game with a sprained shoulder.
Much of the latter portion of the workout was devoted to the kicking game, "because TCU has such a great kicking game," said Hatfield. "They're leading the conference in kickoff returns had a big one for a touchdown against Fresno. That was on the road, too.
"(Royce) Huffman is an outstanding punter, and he's also returning some punts now, too. We have a lot of work to do on the kicking game."
Rice enters the game with a four-game winning streak, while TCU has won its last two by a 98-17 margin. The Owls are 4-3 overall and 3-0 vs. the WAC, while the Frogs are 3-3 and 2-1. Kickoff Saturday is set for 2 pm (CDT).
