Leschber, who has started the last three games, went out in the first half of last week's 38-19 win at Hawaii with a sprained knee, while White went out with a shoulder sprain. Both should return for the Oct. 23 game against Texas Christian.
With Leschber out, sophomore Jamie Tyler will get the start against the Spartans. Junior Derek Gary and freshman Ben Amis will be the backups.
For White, sophomore Dan Dawson will return kickoffs, while sophomore Jason Hebert will draw punt return duty.
"And Justin Engler is back out at halfback, so we'll be all right back there," said coach Ken Hatfield.
The Owls were back to full speed at Wednesday's practice in the Stadium, and Hatfield expects no ill effects from the long return trip Sunday night from Honolulu.
"We changed a little (Tuesday) and a little bit today from what we normally do, but it's just a matter of getting completely rested," he said. "Everybody has always told me that the hardest thing about the Hawaii trip is the game afterwards. It's the recovery time.
"That's why we didn't practice Monday. Yesterday, I could tell we were tired, but today we were a lot fresher. With three more days to kickoff, we'll be all right."
