Taylor Stallman is currently entering his first season with Rice Volleyball. He was announced as assistant coach for the volleyball program in March of 2025. Stallman comes to South Main from the Air Force Academy, where he was responsible for practice coordination, scouting, and recruitment.
Before Air Force, Stallman coached at Benedictine University in Mesa, Ariz., where he spent four years as the head coach of the men’s volleyball team. During his tenure, the Redhawks compiled an 80-24 record, three undefeated seasons in conference play, three California Pacific Conference titles, and three appearances in the NAIA Championship match. The team was routinely ranked in the top five of the NAIA national polls, including a No. 1 ranking during the 2023 season. During his time at Benedictine, his teams defeated three NCAA Division I/II programs in UC-Irvine (DI), Concordia Irvine (DII), and Tusculum (DII).
A two-time Cal Pac Coach of the Year, Stallman was selected as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coach of the Year in 2023 and the NAIA Coach of the Year in 2022. He was also recognized as one of the AVCA’s 30 Under 30 in the 2022 Class.
Stallman joined Benedictine following a stint as coach and director of the AZ Fear Volleyball Club. During his 10 years with the club, he led his team to the Boys Junior National Championship (BJNC) in 2018, a BJNC national runner-up finish in 2019, and a Bronze Medal in 2021. He also served as a graduate assistant at Ottawa University and worked with the women’s program at Mesa Community College, where he helped the team to a regional championship in 2017.
Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Stallman spent five years at Boulder Creek High School, serving as an assistant coach from 2013-16 and the head coach in 2017. During his time on the bench, BCHS won three Arizona 6A Division I state championships (2014, 2016, 2017). He continued to mentor at the prep level in Arizona, serving as an assistant at Casteel High School in 2023, when they won the 5A state championship.
Stallman, who is married to Rachel Stallman, received a bachelor’s degree in special and elementary education from Grand Canyon University in 2018.
