Rice -- Proven defender with a hard-nosed style of play... Brings outstanding strength, speed and experience to the back line... 2005: Came back from a season-ending injury the year before to help the Owls[apos] become one of the best defenses in the region, allowing the fewest goals and second-fewest shots per game (10.5) in Conference USA... Appeared in all 21 games with 20 starts... Tied season high with nine shots, including two on-goal... 2004: Starter in each of the first three games... Suffered a season-ending knee injury in the home-opener against Jacksonville State (Sept. 3), which ended in a 1-0 loss in double-overtime... Helped keep state rivals Houston and Baylor scoreless in the Owls[apos] first two games played... Worked hard in rehabilitation after the injury to return to form... 2003: Only freshman to start all 20 games... Earned the team award for leading the Owls in assists (4)... Named to the all-tournament team for the Oregon Fall Classic, Rice[apos]s opening games of the season and the first two games of her college career... Key player on the Owls[apos] record-setting defensive group... Scored in the 4-1 win over Hawaii at the Western Athletic Conference tournament... Also recorded her third assist in as many games in that WAC semifinal against the Rainbow Wahine... Recorded assists in both Fresno State games and against Northwestern State... Tied for third on the team in points (6)... Attempted a season-high three shots at North Texas.

High School -- 2003 graduate of Klein Oak High School in Spring, where she was a two-year starter for coach Steve Simmons, leading the Panthers to the 4A state championship her senior year... Team[apos]s most valuable player in 2003... Named to the all-district, all-region and all-state teams both her freshman and senior years... Maintained a 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale... National Art Honors Society member, as well as Junior Guild, student council and Spanish club.
