McDonough began her Rice career on July 1, 2022, when she was initially hired as the Director of Operations and held that role for two years.
With the Owls, McDonough oversees the day-to-day operations for the women's basketball team in addition to team travel, apparel and daily communications.
Since arriving to South Main, the Owls have seen much success, claiming the 2024 AAC Tournament title and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the first appearance for Rice since 2019. Rice earned back-to-back appearances in the AAC Championship game during the 2024-25 season, upsetting the regular season champion and top overall seed UTSA in the quarterfinals.
Prior to Rice, McDonough served as the Director of Operations last season at Western Carolina. Previously she was a graduate assistant and student manager for the Baylor Lady Bears, where she oversaw all student managers, handled inventory of athletic gear, and helped coordinate logistics for the team during game days. She was part of the 2019 National Championship team for Baylor University as a support staff member for Kim Mulkey.
McDonough earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2019 and received her master's degree in sport management in May 2021, both from Baylor.
McDonough is a native of Seattle, Wash.
