Coach Smarr Says - 'Rodrigo has proven over the past four years to be the ultimate team player. He has continued to improve his overall game, particularly his forehand and serve. I know he will have a great senior season.'
Rice -- Fall 2005: Posted a 4-3 record in singles... Reached the finals in the Crowne Plaza Invitational, falling to Rice teammate Ralph Knupfer... Went 7-1 in doubles with partner Jason Mok as the pair won the doubles title in the Crowne Plaza Invitational.
2004-05: Went 10-4 in dual-match singles, improving his career record to 36-25... Posted a 10-2 record in tournament doubles, with an 8-1 mark when playing with partner Hoony Shin... Advanced to the quarterfinals of the South Carolina Fall Invitational... Advance to the B-1 doubles final at the USC Fall Invitational with Shin.
2003-04: Was 10-7 overall, including a 5-1 mark in the spring... Teamed with Takehiko Morita to go 4-3 in doubles action... During the fall tournament season, went 9-7 in singles, winning six of his last nine matches heading into the break... Advanced to the quarterfinals of the consolation draw at the ITA Region VI Championships... Was 2-2 with Morita, winning a pair of matches at the ITA Region VI Championships.
2002-03: Joined the Owls in January 2003... Recorded a 9-4 mark in singles, including an 8-3 mark in dual-match action... Was a perfect 5-0 while playing at the four and five positions... Teamed with Vuk Rajevac for three doubles wins.
