Former Owls offensive lineman Lavel Dumont is in his third season assisting Owls coaches and his first with the outside linebackers as a student coach.
He worked with the Owls' offensive line in his initial season before moving to the opposite side of the ball and assisting with the defensive line in his second year.
Dumont came to South Main in 2023 as a graduate transfer from Toledo. He set career highs in games and starts (13) at right guard and compiled a career-best 829 snaps, and did not allow a sack in 509 pass attempts.
Despite playing organized football for the first time in 2016, Dumont quickly developed into a three-star prospect according to Scout.com and 247 Sports and was named one of the 50 best players in the Tampa area prior to the 2017 season by the Tampa Bay Times.
