Selvaraj Earns Win to Open ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. - Rice women's tennis opened the 2026 fall season Saturday at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina.
Senior Nithesa Selvaraj and junior Francesca Maguina competed in the singles prequalifying draw. Selvaraj defeated Northwestern's Mika Fruchtman, 6-3, 6-2, while Maguina fell to Sophia Webster, 6-3, 6-0.
Selvaraj will face Oklahoma State's Arina Malygina, while Maguina will meet Bryant's Noy Yahli in the consolation draw. Both matches are scheduled for Sunday, with times to be announced.
Divna Ratkovic will plan to open in the singles main draw starting on Wednesday.
