Owls Return Home for J. Fred Duckett Twilight Meet

HOUSTON – The Rice women's track and field team readies for the final home meet of the season at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight Meet Saturday at Wendel D. Ley Track.
The Owls boast some of the nation's top marks and times, with several top athletes competing at the meet.
Julia Johannesdottir enters the meet with the 13th-best time in the nation in the 100m hurdles, with her school record time of 13.02s set last week.
After a season-high clearance of 1.82m a week ago, Josie Taylor returns for the high jump, already with the second-best mark in the conference.
Freshman star Emily Harbach looks to build on an already impressive campaign, with a season-best throw of 52.65m in the javelin, holding the second-best spot in the American.
Rice's distance crew looks to build on an impressive showing last week in Azusa, with Cullen Merrell, Susie Nestor, Heidi Nielson and Miranda Schriver all competing across multiple events.
