Boandl Leads Owls on Final Day of Valspar Collegiate Invitational

Palm City, Fla. — Senior Lukas Boandl fired a two-under 69 in the final round of the Valspar Collegiate Invitational.
Boandl recorded five birdies in his round, including three straight from holes 6-8. He finished +1 for the tournament in a tie for 55th-place. The 69 is his team-best 20th round of par or better, and the 58th of his career. It is also his 10th round in the 60's this year, and the 24th of his career.
Sophomore Daniel tied for 47th-place at-1 after closing with a 70, his 15th round of par or better this year and the 36th of his career.
Junior Reggie Zhu carded a 77 to finish at +6 in a tie for 70th-place. Freshman Raines Watson tied for 72nd-place at +7 after posting a 75, and redshirt junior Henry Daly carded a 75 to finish +10 in 80th-place.
Rice closed with a 289 to finish in 15th-place at +10.
No. 10 Texas Tech won the tournament at -45, six strokes in front of No. 1 Auburn. Florida State's Tyler Weaver defeated Oklahoma's Ryder Cowan in a one-hole playoff to earn medalist honors.
