Boandl Tied for Lead Heading into Final Round of Mossy Oak Collegiate

West Point, Miss. — Senior Lukas Boandl tied the best round of his career, firing a second round 65 to sit in a tie for the lead heading into the final round of the Mossy Oak Collegiate, played at Mossy Oak Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
Boandl is tied with Ole Miss' Tom Fischer at -6, one stroke in front of Mississippi State's Dain Richie.
After opening with a 73, Boandl began the second round with five straight pars. He rolled in his first birdie on the 10th. He got back-to-back birdies on the 12th and 13th, then recorded three straight on holes 15-17. After his seventh birdie of the round on the second hole, he closed with consecutive pars.
It is just the fourth round of -7 or better in school history, but the third for Boandl.
The 65 tied the second-best round in school history. It was his 11th round of par or better this year, tying the school record for most in a season, and the 25th of his career. It was also his team-leading 21st round of par or better, and the 59th of his career.
Sophomore Daniel Zou is tied for 35th-place at +2 after carding rounds of 74-72. The 72 is his 16th round of par or better this year and the 37th of his career.
Redshirt junior Henry Daly and junior Reggie Zhu both shot 77-75 to sit at +8 in 74th-place. Freshman Raines Watson carded rounds of 80-74 to sit +10 in a tie for 81st-place.
The Owls are +11, in ninth-place, after rounds of 301-286.
No. 15 Ole Miss leads the tournament at -17, nine strokes in front of No. 59 Mississippi State.

The final round begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. Rice will tee off from hole No. 1 and will be paired with student-athletes from Coastal Carolina, New Mexico State, and Sam Houston.
