The Stats
Rice connected on 55.6% (30-of-54) from the field, and 51.6% (16-of-31) from three, but was just 13-of-19 (68.4%) from the free throw line. UTSA was held to just 43.5% (27-of-626) from the floor, and 28.6% (8-of-28) from three, but hit 84.6% (11-of-13) from the free throw line. Rice was outrebounded by the Roadrunners, 32-to-31.
What Head Coach Rob Lanier Had to Say
"It was a good win. I love the way we shared the ball tonight. We had 19 assists in the game. In the first half, we made 10 threes. It's always great to see the ball go through the basket. But II thought that we were scoring so well in the first half, that it affected our defensive intensity. We had an opportunity to get some real significant separation in the first half, but we didn't exhibit enough toughness. The game got down to eight points and we made some big shots. We ratcheted up the defense a little bit. It was a really good road win for our guys."
