HOUSTON - Rice Swimming and Diving will open its 2025–26 season this weekend at the Seminole Fall Classic, held Friday and Saturday at the Morcom Aquatic Center in Tallahassee, Florida.
The two-day meet will feature competition against West Virginia and host Florida State. A full schedule is available at the bottom of this release.
Rice, the defending American Conference champion, was selected as the preseason favorite in the 2026 American Swimming and Diving Coaches Poll. Head coach Seth Huston said the team welcomes the recognition but remains focused on steady progress.
It is always fun to have a target on your back, head coach Seth Huston said. We look forward to competing in the pool this upcoming season. I wish all the American swimming and diving programs the best this season. Kicking off the season at the Seminole Fall Classic marks an earlier start than usual for the Owls.
Starting our season at the Seminole Classic is a little earlier than we typically start, Huston said. But it's a great opportunity to compete with ACC and Big 12 schools. It'll be a great test for our team and show us how we stack up.
