
Soccer Ranked 25th in United Soccer Coaches Poll

HOUSTON – For the first time since the 2021 season, the Rice soccer team is nationally ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll, earning the 25th spot in the rankings, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Owls were receiving votes in the past two polls, and have now entered the rankings for the week of Sept. 16, one of two schools in the American Conference to be ranked (Memphis – 9).
Rice also debuted at 40 in the initial RPI of the season, the highest initial RPI ranking in program history.
Led by the reigning American Offensive Player of the Year Leah Chancey, the Owls are riding a four-match unbeaten streak.
Head Coach Brian Lee's squad was last ranked on Sept. 21, 2021, at No. 24 by the same poll.
Rice (5-1-1) returns home this Thursday night to face Florida Atlantic at Holloway Field.
