HOUSTON — Rice men's golf coach Justin Emil announced on Friday the addition of former Owl Henry Daly (Windsor, Berkshire, England/Virginia) to a grant-in-aid for the 2025-26 school year.
"I'm thrilled to have Henry return to Rice," said Emil. "He's an excellent player and can help us reach our goals as a program, all while keeping our tradition of excellence in the classroom."
Daly redshirted last year and will have two years of eligibility.
As a freshman, he led the Owls in four fall tournaments, averaging 70.91 strokes while recording a -0.89 average vs. par. He notched seven rounds of par or better in 11 rounds, including twice firing a career-best 67. He finished in the top 20 in all four tournaments, and tied for seventh-place at the Tempest Collegiate. Daly closed his fall season tying for 13th-place at The Clerico, earning Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors.
Daly has also earned top finishes on the amateur ranks. He's twice finished in the top 10 at the Surrey Amateur County Championship, finishing runner-up in 2023 and in ninth-place in 2024. He also earned a fourth-place finish at the Peter Alliss Memorial Trophy.
