IRVING – Four Owls represent the Rice women's basketball team on the 2025 American Athletic Conference postseason honors, with Malia Fisher (First Team) and Dominique Ennis (Second Team) earning spots on the AAC All-Conference teams. Fisher also received the Ambassador Award and was named to the All-Defensive Team. Aniah Alexis was named to the All-Freshman Team, while Victoria Flores earned a spot on the All-Newcomer Team.
Awards are voted on by the league's coaches. Coaches cannot vote for their own teams or players.
Fisher's senior campaign landed her a third All-Conference team selection and marks the first time she has received first team and defensive team honors. Fisher shares the Ambassador Award, which is defined as the player who most exemplifies the ideals of sportsmanship on the court with community service off the court, with Tulsa's Delanie Crawford.
Fisher continued to prove to be among the best in the American this season, averaging 12.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. She is one of six athletes in the AAC to have a 30-point game, doing so in a 32-point performance against Tulane. Fisher has 10 games of 10+ points during conference play and four games of 10+ rebounds in that stretch.
During conference play, Fisher ranks fourth in field goal percentage (.448), 10th in scoring (13.25), seventh in blocks (1.25) and 15th in rebounds (6.7).
Defensively, she ranks ninth in defensive rebounds per game with 5.4, and has had seven multi-block games this season, including four against Memphis. Fisher has recorded at least one block in 10 conference games and at least one steal in 12 games, with a season-high four steals against Tulsa. She's had at least one block and one steal in seven AAC games.
This season, Fisher has volunteered with the Houston Food Bank, Forge for Families, the HBCU All-Star Community Fun Day and the B.I.G. Love organization, helping the fight against pediatric cancer. Fisher and the entire Rice team helped put on a basketball clinic for several children and their families, which they got to participate in various drills and activities with the team, including designing a team warmup, which Rice wore for their home game against UAB.
Ennis earned her first career All-Conference selection after an incredible junior season. She has proved to be one of the most prolific shooters in the league this season, ranking second in three-point percentage (.441), second in three-pointers per game (3.2), sixth in field goal percentage (.421), ninth in scoring (14.0) in the AAC. Ennis also ranks 11th in defensive rebounds (5.0) and 17th in rebounds (5.86).
Ennis leads the team in scoring this season (12.4) and is tied for the team lead in steals per game (1.3). She has recorded her first three double-doubles of her career this season, all in conference play. Ennis has recorded 10+ points in 20 games this season, 13 of them being conference games. This season, Ennis has amassed 72 threes, the third most in a single season for Rice, just two shy of the record.
Alexis has had a great freshman campaign, earning a stay in the starting five midway through conference play. She is currently averaging 5.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 18 minutes player per game. Alexis has had five 10+-point games, including a career-high 20 points at South Florida, shooting 9-of-12 from the floor, earning her a second Freshman of the Week honor.
She is shooting 40% from the floor during conference play. Alexis has had several strong defensive shows as well, averaging just under four rebounds a game while also recording multi-steal games four times in conference play and also had a career-high two blocks against UTSA.
