Owls Wrap Up Weekend at LSU Quad Met

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Rice swim and dive team wrapped up its weekend at the LSU Quad Meet on Saturday.
The Owls defeated Tulane 211-89, but fell to Houston 177-123 and LSU 204-95.
Ava Portello recorded two second-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:48.40) and 500 freestyle (4:47.55), and added a third-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle (9:53.83). Reese Cole placed third in both the 200 butterfly (2:00.22) and 200 individual medley (2:02.36).
Ella Dyson finished fourth in the 1,000 freestyle (9:56.22) and 500 freestyle (5:03.06). Lily Archibald placed third in the 100 butterfly (54.22), while Avery Karacz finished fifth in the 50 freestyle (23.23).
Antonina Harned took second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 275.30 and third in the 1-meter with a 268.95.
The Owls return to the pool Nov. 19-21 at the Phill Hansel Invitational hosted by Houston.
