Kuzmenok Splits on Day Two of ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. - Rice men's tennis sophomore Petro Kuzmenok won his first match-up of the day in the ITA All-American Championships before falling in the afternoon on Sunday.
Kuzmenok defeated Yu Zhang of Notre Dame in two sets to start the day, with a scoreline of 7-6 (11-9), 6-2, to advance in the tournament. In the afternoon, he fell to Clemson's Maxwell Smith in two sets by a final of 6-3, 6-4.
Arthus de la Bessetiere fell against Alex Okonkwo of Tulsa in the morning by a final score of 6-3, 6-4.
Both players have been eliminated from the ITA All-American Championships and will return to action on September 27 in the US College Cup Invitational, hosted in Torreon, Mexico.
