Men's Tennis Wins Four of Six Finals Matches at Islander Open

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Rice Owls men's tennis team took four of six finals matches on Sunday during the Jake Frederick Memorial Islander Open hosted by Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.
In doubles action, Petro Kuzmenok and Gabriel Porras defeated their opposing duo from UTSA by a score of 6-1, while Eduardo Morais and Joshua Mandelbaum defeated their opponents from Abeline Christian by a score of 6-3, securing wins in both doubles matches Rice took part in.
In singles action, Kuzmenok defeated his opponent from UT Arlington in two sets, 6-0, 6-3, and Morais defeated his opponent in the third set by a scoreline of 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 (10-8). Mandelbaum fell to his opponent from the host TAMUCC in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 (10-6), while Porras fell in two sets to his opponent from ACU, 6-3, 6-3.

The Owls will take part in the ITA Men's All-American Championships, starting this weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
