
Evee, Mason Named Dave Campbell’s All-Texas Honorable Mention

HOUSTON — For the second straight year, two players were named All-Texas Honorable Mention by Dave Campbell's Texas Basketball, as Travis Evee and Mekhi Mason earned the distinction, the publication announced.
Evee earns the honor for the second time, having also been named in 2021-22. A three-time member of the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, he led the Owls and was seventh in the AAC with 16.7 points per game. He was also third in free throw percentage (.829), fifth in three-pointers made per game (2.3), and ninth in minutes played (33.7), while placing second on the team with a 34.3% three-point field goal percentage.
He led the team with 27 double-figure scoring games and 12, 20 point games, including a season-high 34 points against East Carolina. Against UT-Martin, he set the school record for career three-pointers. The Randolph, Mass., native finished his career as the school's all-time leader in three-pointers made (313) and three-pointers attempted (857). He's also third in scoring (1,885), sixth in free throw percentage (.828) and eighth in steals (139), and is the only player in school history with 1,800 career points, 300 rebounds, 300 assists and 125 steals.
Mason was second on the team with 14.0 points, 2.8 assists, 30 steals and a 34.3% three-point field goal percentage. He scored double-figures 23 times and had five, 20-point games, including a career-high 30-points at UTSA to earn AAC Player of the Week honors. In conference play, he averaged 14.6 points and was eighth in the league in three-point field goal percentage (.386). Mason led the team in scoring eight times and assists nine times.
