Playing all matches to their conclusion, Kezuka extended Rice's lead with a 6-4, 7-5 win at the fourth position. Orav then became the fourth Owl to win both their doubles and singles match, taking her match at the fifth position in three sets, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3.
Head coach Elizabeth Schmidt: "Today was a solid team win. We played a good doubles point and got out to a fast start in singles. But credit to Tulsa for turning some matches around in the second sets and really pushing us to step up and close out some very tight matches. Proud of the team's grit and toughness that we displayed today."
Up Next: Rice concludes its homestand with a pair of home matches next weekend. The Owls will host North Texas on Friday, March 29, at 1 p.m. (CT), before facing off against No. 48 Charlotte on Sunday, March 31, at 11 a.m. (CT).
