Scouting Rice
• Rice enters Saturday night's game with a 9-14 record and 3-7 in the American Athletic Conference. The Owls look to bounce back after falling to SMU, 95-69.
• Rice is led by fifth-year senior guard Travis Evee, who is scoring 15.7 points per game, good for eighth in the American. He's adding 3.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals while also placing eighth in the league in free throw percentage (.819).
• Sophomore guard Mekhi Mason is second on the team with 14.4 points, and 2.8 assists while placing third with 3.9 rebounds. In conference play, he is seventh in the AAC with 17.0 points per game, fifth in three-point field goal percentage (.423), ninth in steals per game (1.5) and 10th in three-pointers made per game (2.2).
