Connors Named to All-Texas Team

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football honors Owl
Rice running back Dean Connors was named to Dave Campbell's Texas Football's All-Texas College second team, the publication revealed on Tuesday.
Connors led the Owls in 2024 in rushing (780 yards), touchdowns (11), rushing touchdowns (9), and all-purpose yards (1,265) and was second with 62 receptions and receiving yards (485). His 62 receptions were the most by a running back in the country in the regular season and he set Rice career running back records for receptions (113) and receiving yards (912).
He became the first Owl to lead the team in rushing in consecutive seasons since Charles Ross in 2012 and 2013.
Connors had been named to the DCTFB All-Texas preseason second team in the 2024 edition of the publication.
