Owls Take Two Event Titles at UH

HOUSTON – The Rice women's track and field team continued their strong start to the season, taking two event titles at the Robert Platt Invitational hosted by the University of Houston.
Tara Simpson-Sullivan opened the meet by grabbing the weight throw title with a throw of 21.73m, ranking her 11th in the NCAA. Josie Taylor grabbed her second event title of the season in high jump with a clearance of 1.80m, moving her to 29th in the NCAA.
Alice Taylor finished second in her first pentathlon at Rice, while Kennedy Gamble had a strong showing on the track, finishing third in the 60-meter dash.
