
Rice's Schwartzman, Orav Earn Singles and Doubles Titles at Rice Invitational

Sophomore Darya Schwartzman was named the singles champion, while Schwartzman and junior Saara Orav were named doubles champions on the final day of the Rice Invitational at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
The Details
In the final day of singles play, Rice again went undefeated with five victories as Schwartzman, Orav and freshman Anushka Ashar each posted straight-set victories. Freshman Divna Ratkovic and graduate senior Chie Kezuka completed the Owls' day with a pair of three-set wins over a pair of UTA opponents.
Schwartzman finished the weekend going 3-0 in singles play with wins over foes from Houston, Western Kentucky and UTSA. The duo of Schwartzman and Orav went 3-0 in doubles matches with wins over partnerships from UTA, UTSA and Western Kentucky.
