Lone Exhibition
The Owls are back to kick off the 2023-24 season Wednesday night at Tudor Fieldhouse when the team welcomes Angelo State for an exhibition game. Rice will open the season next Monday against Houston Christian at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Free Admission
Wednesday's game will be free admission for fans and seating will be general admission (except courtside seating).

The Owls are 4-0 all-time against Angelo State, with the last matchup coming on November 13, 1981, with Rice winning 65-61.
She's Back!
Destiny Jackson is back for a fifth season with the Owls after averaging 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Jackson led the team with 100 assists and 42 steals. Last season, she dropped a career-high 33 points in Rice's 91-88 double-overtime win against Houston.
Fisher Tabbed for Preseason Honors, Owls Picked Third
Junior forward Malia Fisher was named to the 2023 Preseason All-AAC Second Team. Fisher, an All-C-USA Second Teamer last season, was second on the team with 11.8 points per game while leading the team with 6.3 rebounds per game. She also had a team-high five double-doubles on the season. Fisher had a career-high 22 points, including the game-winning steal and layup against Louisiana Tech.
A Historic Season
Last season, Rice wrapped up non-conference play with a perfect 9-0 record, marking the best start in program history. During the non-conference slate, Rice picked up a win over crosstown rival Houston 91-88 (2OT) and earned back-to-back wins against Power 5 programs, taking down Texas A&M in College Station 66-58 and then defending the homecourt against TCU 68-58.
