Golf Earns President’s Special Recognition Award from GCAA

HOUSTON — The Rice golf team earned President's Special Recognition Team honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
A total of 36 Division I teams received President's Special Recognition status for having team GPAs of 3.5 or better.
In addition to earning the honor, Rice placed eight golfers on the Commissioner's Honor Roll this spring, with Blake Benson, Jake Benson, and Thomas Bockholt III claiming C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medals. Last week, Jack Diamond and Harrison Hineline were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars.
Old Dominion as the only other C-USA school to earn President's Special Recognition status. Harvard was named the Academic National Champion.
